Cubistry Online Competition Highlights

I have recently participated in the Cubistry online competition and it was really exciting and interesting too! Click here for the results.

I participated in 3×3 and 3×3 OH and the latter results really surprised me!

However, I will talk about 3×3 first. I got a 13.22 full-step solve! It was pretty great! I averaged 17.65 , but did not manage to get into Round 2.

Now, 3×3 OH really surprised me. I beat my PB with all 5 solves! All 5 solves ended with a U Perm! Best solve was 26.92! Averaged 32.28 but didn’t get into Finals. But I don’t really care, I did great still! (in my opinion).

So, overall it was a great experience, and you should really participate in online cubing competitions! Especially if you’re at home and sick of just practicing everyday.

Thanks for reading this kind-of-lengthy post and stay tuned for more content!

CubingTime

This cube timer has recently boosted in popularity, especially since Cubing Encoded talked about it on his channel.

I tried it out and it is hands down the best cube timer compared to other timers we have as an app(I had to add that in cos people will argue that csTimer is better although it doesn’t have an app version)

It is conveniently breezy to use, especially the gestures that make life easier.

A cool feature they have is Contests. These are held weekly for every WCA event (including feet although it has already been removed as a WCA event).

It will then show you your ranking among all the users that have participated and your average of 5.

However, as it is an app version, it does not show you each individual solve. For that you will have to go to its website.

Now, something bad about this feature. People will cheat and just start and stop the timer as fast as possible, getting times faster than world records! Why do people do that!!! They are disrespecting the cubers who actually put in their best in solving!!!

I think that’s the only bad thing so overall this app gets a 4.7/5 rating.

Thanks for reading till here, you really are patient, dearest reader. 🤣

P.S. I will post some pictures a bit later.

I will be posting more frequently now!

Ok. School has been busy, that’s the main reason why I haven’t been posting since 12 Jan 2020. Going to a new school and taking up so many subjects is something i’m not used to, but after a month or so of adjustment, I finally have time to blog now.

That’s the good news, now for the not so good news.

It has been cancelled.

The Singapore Cube Championship has been cancelled.

Why?

We are at DORSCON Orange due to the Novel Coronavirus (NCoV) outbreak in Wuhan,Hubei,China that has spread to Singapore. That’s the same DORSCON level as the SARS outbreak in Singapore 17 years back.

Of course I was not even alive at that point, but people always talk about how dangerous it was back then.

The government has since advised them to cancel the Singapore Cube Championship.

So, my first competition will probably be in …… wait, no no No NOOOO!
